Launch LEZ4all

Working on social justice in car-restrictive policies

Last month, the official kick-off of the LEZ4all-project took place in Paris.

Together with Auxilia, Metropolitan Area Barcelona, Brussels Capital Region and Metropolitan Area Lyon, UAntwerp participated in the meeting to take the first project steps and plan for the upcoming two years of this project. LEZ4all falls under the Erasmus+ program by the European Union and focuses on the challenges professionals experience in addressing negative socio-economic effects experienced by more vulnerable population groups from the implementation of car-restrictive policies.

The project partners will collaborate on an elaborate needs assessment, piloting of innovative tools and the development of accessible training modules to support professionals in expanding their skillset and awareness to work on the social impact of Low Emission Zones (LEZ) and other vehicle access regulation policies. As such, the project aims to contribute to a just transition towards sustainable and accessible urban environments for all citizens.

Design Sciences Hub is looking forward to share more results from this engaged collaboration!
